IEP Meetings

IEP meetings are an essential way for parents, educators, and service providers to work together in supporting a student’s unique needs. These meetings build trust and ensure that everyone is aligned in helping the student succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. IEPs are reviewed at least once a year but can be requested more often by parents or the school if needed. A special IEP meeting is also typically held when transitioning from preschool to TK/K to support a smooth move into a more structured school setting.

Parent Council

The LELA Parent Council is open to all parents of our young students.  The purpose of the Parent Council is to meet in partnership with school staff to make sure that the parent perspective is represented and taken into account. We value the home-school connection and your involvement in your children’s education. We meet several times per year to share information and discuss important school topics.

Family Connection & Learning Series: Where families and schools partner to help little dinos thrive.

Join us for our monthly, virtual 1-hour sessions designed to support and empower families of young learners. Each session features presentations by district specialists and trusted community partners on topics that matter most to you — from toileting tips and communication strategies to sensory support and school transitions.

School Events

Parent involvement in school events like Back to School Night, Fall Festival, Multicultural Night, and Playtime & Promotion at LELA plays a vital role in building a strong school community. These events offer opportunities for parents to connect, learn and celebrate our community. Through participation, parents not only strengthen relationships but also gain valuable insights into their child's learning and social development. This collaboration fosters a supportive environment where students thrive both academically and personally.

Volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering in your student's classroom or participating in a field trip, please complete the district volunteer form. Santa Rosa City Schools has collaborated with Be A Mentor, Inc., to support the online registration and screening process of school volunteers.
